REWE Austria Touristik wanted to turn its billareisen.at platform into Austria's ultimate smart tourism booking website. With over 10,000 hotels in as many destinations worldwide, the challenge was technically massive, as the portal needs to offer great value all-inclusive holiday packages and useful tips to customers who sometimes expect demands to become dream holidays...
The challenge
BILLA Reisen brings together more than 10,000 hotels and 10,000 destinations worldwide, which are assembled into offers by the billareisen.at editorial team. The website's mission is to make finding and booking holidays as easy as possible. Emakina was briefed to relook the user journey and design to make this happen.

Inexpensive, luxurious, on the beach, in the mountains –holidays mean something different for everyone. For BILLA Reisen, no holiday request is too out-of-the-box! The customer is supported by innovative search tools, an interactive travel consultant, and lots of useful filter options.
In addition to design and usability, special attention was paid to performance optimisation at the launch of the portal. This helps customers to find their perfect holiday quickly and easily, from flights and hotels to their most peculiar and unusual requests.
